Our Techs

At Warrior Tech OCR, our trainers (we call them “technicians” or “techs”) are what makes us different. We don’t consider Warrior Tech OCR to be a “gym” or an “entertainment complex.” We’re a training facility. Our experienced trainers are always on hand. You’ll never be left to fend for yourself at Warrior Tech OCR.

#knowyourwhy

Tim - techMy why is spiritual. When you find that passion for something, it’s all consuming. We are all driven by results and the intoxicating bliss of losing weight and getting stronger fuels that why. Drawing since he could walk, Tim earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts from Maryland Institute College of Art (1995). While the running joke that Kim always leaves him behind in races gives everyone a good laugh, he loves that their entire family are Spartans. After Tim earned his Trifecta, he has focused on building the Warrior Tech business, quite literally for his boys Corey, 8 and Jacob, 5. Enjoy those obstacles out back, he constructed each and every one!

Carrie - co-owner
My why is motivational. Carrie has always taken care of herself and her three very active kids, Michael (11), Brady (8) and Caitlin (5). She tries to motivate them every day to be the best that they can be, and believes today is her tomorrow and that it’s up to her to shape it, to take control, and to seize every opportunity. She and her co-owners are very excited to bring this wonderful business to life. As the Director of Finance and the organizational backbone of Warrior Tech OCR, she’s thrilled to have the opportunity to be part of something great and she couldn’t have asked for a better group of people to work with.

Matt Kalanz

Arm Enthusiast (Adult Programs)

Matt - trainerMy why is not for myself, but for others. Since graduating with a degree in exercise science from ECU in 2013, Matt has dedicated his career to helping others achieve their health and fitness goals. As a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Matt works with a variety of clients ranging from post-rehab to pre-competition. He gauges his success from the success of his clients, and finds the most enjoyment in seeing them reach a milestone in their journey. While he is not training others, he is training himself. Always trying to push his limits physically, Matt has competed in multiple Spartan Races, marathons, and Ninja Warrior competitions. Warrior Tech has enabled Matt to combine what he loves to do with what he loves to teach, and he could not be more thankful to be part of the team.

#knowyourwhy

Tech CodyMy why is to inspire others to live a healthier lifestyle — to create the better version of themselves. I have been competing in Spartan Races for 3 years, and in that time, I’ve done over 13 OCR courses in total. Over the years, I have been training clients in kickboxing, boxing, insanity, weightlifting, and boot camp, successfully helping others reach goals that some thought were impossible to achieve! I have led multiple Spartan clients to earn their trifecta medals. When I have down time, it’s time to train myself, and I take my training very seriously to participate in future endurance events. I can’t see myself doing anything other than working with a great group people that share the same passion that I do, helping others achieve greatness!

Justin Fitzgerald

With 11 years of experience, he, like Matt, works with a variety of clients ranging from post-rehab to pre-competition. Married to Alexandra for 11 years and the proud dad to Aliyah, 7, Justin has a passion for the youth, developing kids’ athleticism and character. With years of OCR races and Ninja Competitions under his belt, he is excited to be a part of the Warrior Tech team.

Tech JessicaMy why is about functionality and prevention. As a former nurse, Jessica sees training and proper nutrition as medicine. She has over 6 years of experience in fitness and nutritional coaching helping fix the problem now as opposed to treating or masking the symptom later. For Jessica this is not only about improving your ability and helping you feel good in your skin, it’s about supporting that with sustainable lifestyle changes, to improve longevity and find balance! These are all things she also strives for in her own life with her family, as their personal meal prep/chef extraordinaire. 😉

Caleb Nielsen

Pioneer of Potential (Adult Programs)

Tech - CalebMy why involves uncovering potential and being prepared. I served four years in the Marine Corps and these two lessons have stuck with me ever since. I learned what I was capable of and the crazy things I could overcome if I simply learned how to adapt and be willing to accept challenges. I like the analogy of viewing ourselves as a gold mine – the value is there, but only when we work to find it, dig it up, and polish it. A gold mine isn’t worth a dime if I’m lazy. With this, I can’t prepare for every single problem in life, but I can learn essential principles which will help me to adapt and push beyond my limits. THAT’S why I train myself and others.
