Summer can be a super busy season, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your clean eating habits. Fast food has come a long way, and there are some great places right here in the triangle for you to take advantage of.

Smoothie King is right down the street from us in Park West, and they’ll make shakes with any combination of protein and fruits, veggies, chocolate and nuts you can dream up. Clean Juice is in the same plaza and offers more in the way of all natural and organic smoothies and bowls, so if you’re looking for less artificial ingredients/additives, definitely check them out. Right across the street find Potbelly’s; you can order online ahead of time and the Powerhouse salad is amazing and packed with protein and veggies. Add their signature house vinaigrette or avocado for some healthy fat and you’re good to get on with the rest of your day. Tropical Smoothie Café is also close by, just over the Cary line by Publix, and they also offer some guilt free and pretty delicious sandwiches if you’re in a pinch.

A huge trend in healthy eats are acai bowls; and you can get them in the Apex area off a food truck! Buoy Bowls keeps ingredients fresh, organic, and comes highly recommended, although I personally haven’t tried their stuff yet. Kale Me Crazy in Cary and Happy+Hale with multiple locations have similar menus and positive ratings as well.

If you’re in Raleigh proper, definitely check out Raleigh Raw or Gabbagreen Raleigh for acai bowls, smoothies and more. Raleigh Raw has done a great job with their stuff; everything is natural and raw as the name suggests. They offer sushi as well. Try Sola Coffee Café if you need your caffeine fix and want a similar menu selection (without the sushi) along with brunch options.

AND if you have or find a place you like that uses fresh healthy ingredients- post it in the comments so everyone can try them out!
